Bio

Jeannie Nguyen is a Vietnamese-American Writer and Director born and raised in San Jose, California.

Self-taught and inspired by her multi-hyphenate upbringing, her unconventional filmmaking excavates social issues through surreal, dream-like narratives, which have earned praise from film festivals across the country. Her acclaimed short Sigh Gone is one such piece. Filmed on location in Vietnam, it unfolds a story of heartache set against a searing critique of contemporary tech culture.

A daughter of refugees, she aims to be a voice for the underrepresented, to shed light on those who have been made to seem invisible.
